1.  The Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed by Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  Amen.

2.  Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.  In verdant pastures He give me repose; Beside restful waters He leads me; He refreshes my soul.  He guides me in right paths for His name's sake.  Even though I walk in the dark valley, I fear no evil; for You are at my side with Your rod and Your staff that give me courage.

You spread the table before me in the sight of my foes; You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.  Only goodness and kindness follow me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for years to come.  Amen.

3.  An Act of Contrition

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended You, and I detest all my sins because of Your just punishments, but most of all because they offended You, my God, who are all good and deserving of all may love.  I firmly resolve, with the help of Your Grace, to sin no more, and to avoid the near occasion of sin.  Amen.

4.  An Act of Faith

O my God, I firmly believe that You are one God in three divine Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  I believe that Your divine Son became man, and died for our sins and that He will come to judge the living and the dead.  I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches because You have revealed them, who can neither deceive nor be deceived.  Amen.

5.  An Act of Love

O my God, I love You above all things with my whole heart and soul, because You are all good and worthy of all my love.  I love my neighbor as myself for the love of You.  I forgive all who have injured me, and ask pardon for all whom I have injured.

6.  An Act of Hope

O my God, relying on Your infinite goodness and promises, I hope to obtain pardon for my sins, the help of your grace and life everlasting, through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer.  Amen.

7.  The Divine Praises

May the Heart of Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament, be praised, adored, and loved with grateful affection, at every moment, in all the tabernacles of the world, even to the end of time.  Amen.

8.  For the Souls in Purgatory

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.  May the souls of the faithful departed, through the Mercy of God, rest in peace.  Amen.

9.  Prayer for Vocations

Almighty God, Lord of the Harvest, you call each of us to continue your work of caring for souls and leading them to heaven.  Given the young men and women of our Archdiocese the courage and generosity to say, "Yes" to their vocation.  Give parents a greater trust in your goodness so that they will help their children to discern and be open to your loving will.  Give our seminarians perseverance and a thirst for holiness.  Call forth priests to bring us the Sacraments and to preach your Word.  Call forth religious sisters, brothers, and deacons to serve, and pray, and teach.  And help each of us to serve you in our particular state in life.  For only in serving you will our hearts be satisfied.  Through Christ Our Lord.  Amen.

10.  Independence Day Prayer

God, source of all freedom, this day is bright with the memory of those who declared that life and liberty are your gift to every human being.

Help us to continue a good work begun long ago.  Make our vision clear and our will strong: that only in human solidarity will we find liberty, and justice only in the honor that belongs to every life on earth.

Turn our hearts toward the family of nations: to understand the ways of others, to offer friendship, and to find safety only in the common good of all.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.  Amen.

11.  Blessing of a Christmas Tree

Lord our God.  We praise you for the light of creation: the sun, the moon, and the stars of the night.

We praise you for the light of Israel: the Law, the prophets, and the wisdom of the Scriptures.

We praise you for Jesus Christ, your Son; his is Emmanuel, God-with-us, the Prince of Peace, who fills us with the wonder of your love.

Lord God, let your blessing come upon us as we light this tree.

May the light and cheer it gives be a sign of the joy that fills our hearts.

May all who delight in this tree come to the knowledge and joy of salvation.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.  Amen.

12.  Prayer for our Nation

God our Father, Giver of life, we entrust the United States of America to Your loving care.

You are the rock on which this nation was founded.  You alone are the true source of our cherished rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Reclaim this for Your glory and dwell among Your people.

Send Your Spirit to touch the hearts of our nation's leaders.  Open their minds to the great worth of human life and the responsibilities that accompany human freedom.  Remind Your people that true happiness is rooted in seeking and doing Your will.

Through the intercession of Mary Immaculate, Patroness of our land, grant us the courage to reject the "culture of death."  Lead us into a new millennium of life.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.  Amen.

13.  Blessing for Marriage

Almighty and eternal God, You have so exalted the unbreakable bond of marriage that it has become the sacramental sign of Your Son's union with the Church as His spouse.

Look with favor on us whom You have united with marriage as we ask for Your help and the protection of the Virgin Mary.  We pray that in good times and in bad we will grow in love for each other; that we will resolve to be of one heart in the bond of peace.

Lord, in our struggles let us rejoice that You are near to help us; in our needs let us know that You are there to rescue us; in our joys let us see that You are the source and completion of every happiness.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.  Amen.

14.  Blessing of those Gathered at a Meeting

Lord, may everything we do begin with your inspiration and continue with your help, so that all our prayers and works may begin i you and by you be happily ended.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.   Amen.

15.  Prayer During Difficult Times

God of love and mercy, assist me in this time of trouble and anxiety.  Ease my burdens.  Strengthen my faith.  Increase my trust and confidence in Your compassionate care.

Give me the courage I need, dear Lord, to face the difficulties before me, knowing that with Your help, miracles happen and lives are restored.

I pray for a share in Your healing graces, and ask that You surround me with Your comforting goodness, for health in mind and body, and for a heart filled with hope and peace.

16.  Morning Prayer

To You I pray, O Lord,
At dawn you hear my voice.

Reflection:

Each day is a new beginning, an opportunity to draw closer to Christ.  Whatever the misery or glory of the past may have been, this day offers another chance which will never come again to do God's work and will.  Try to use it prudently.

Prayer:
Good morning, Lord, and thank you for another day of life.  Please help me to face whatever pains and problems it may bring, and to enjoy whatever pleasures may come my way.  In your kindness keep me close to you today and preserve me and all your people from every evil.  In the name of Christ, your Son, receive my morning prayer.  Amen.

17.  An Exorcism

In the Name of Jesus Christ, our God and Lord, strengthened by the intercession of the Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God, of Blessed Michael the Archangel, of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul and all the Saints, we confidently undertake to repulse the attacks and deceits of the devil

Psalm 67: God arises; His enemies are scattered and those who hate Him flee before Him.  As smoke is driven away, so are they driven; as wax melts before the fire, so the wicked perish at the presence of God.

Leader:  Behold the Cross of the Lord, flee bands of enemies.
Response:  He has conquered the Lion of the tribe of Judah. The offspring of David.
Leader:  May thy mercy, Lord, descend upon us.
Response:  As great as our hope in Thee.

We drive you from us, whoever you may be, unclean spirits, all satanic powers, all infernal invaders, all wicked legions, assemblies and sects; in the Name and by the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
(Make the sign of the Cross silently)

May you be snatched away and driven from the Church of God and from the souls made to the image and likeness of God and redeemed by the Precious Blood of the Divine Lamb.
(Make the sign of the Cross silently)

Most cunning serpent, you shall no more dare to deceive the human race, persecute the church, torment God’s elect and sift them as wheat.
(Make the sign of the Cross silently)

The Most High God commands you,
(Make the sign of the Cross silently)

He with whom, in your great insolence, you still claim to be equal; “He who wants all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”  God the Father commands you.
(Make the sign of the Cross silently)

God the Son commands you.
(Make the sign of the Cross silently)

God the Holy Spirit commands you.
(Make the sign of the Cross silently)

Christ, God’s Word made flesh, commands you;
(Make the sign of the Cross silently)

He who to save our race outdone through your envy, “humbled Himself, becoming obedient even unto death;”  He who built His church on the firm rock and declared that the gates of hell shall not prevail against Her, because He will dwell with Her, “all days even to the end of the world.”  The sacred Sign of the Cross commands you,   (Make the sign of the Cross silently) as does also the power of the mysteries of the Christian Faith.  (Make the sign of the Cross silently)  The glorious Mother of God, the Virgin Mary, commands you;
(Make the sign of the Cross silently)

She who by her humility and from the first moment of her Immaculate Conception, crushed your proud head.  The faith of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul and of the other Apostles command you.
(Make the sign of the Cross silently)

The blood of the Martyrs and the pious intercession of all the Saints command you.
(Make the sign of the Cross silently)

Thus, cursed dragon, and you, diabolical legions, we adjure you by the living God,
(Make the sign of the Cross silently)

By the true God, by the Holy God, by the God,
(Make the sign of the Cross silently)

“Who so loved the world that He gave up His only Son, that every soul believing in Him might not perish but have life everlasting;” stop deceiving human creatures and pouring out to them the poison of eternal damnation; stop harming the church and hindering her liberty.  Begone, Satan, inventor and master of all deceit, enemy of man’s salvation.  Give place to Christ in whom you have found none of your works; give place to the One, Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church acquired by Christ at the price of His Blood.  Stoop beneath the all-powerful hand of God; tremble and flee when we invoke the Holy and Terrible Name of Jesus, this Name to which the Virtues, Powers and Dominations of heaven are humbly submissive, this Name which causes hell to tremble, this Name which the Cherubim and Seraphim praise unceasingly repeating: Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord, the God of Armies.

O Lord, hear my prayer.
And let my cry come unto Thee.

18.  Heavenly Father Prayer for Healing

Heavenly Father, I call on you right now in a special way.  It is through your power that I was created.

Every breath I take, every morning I wake, and every moment of every hour, I live under your power.  Father, I ask you now to touch me with that same power.  For, if you created me from nothing, you can certainly recreate me.  Fill me with the healing power of your spirit.

Cast out anything that should not be in me.  Mend what is broken.  Root out any unproductive cells.  Open any blocked arteries or veins and rebuild any damaged areas.  Remove all inflammation and cleanse any infection.  Let the warmth of your healing love pass through my body to make new any unhealthy areas so that my body will function the way you created it to function.

And Father, restore me to full health in mind and body so that I may serve you the rest of my life.  I ask this through Christ our Lord.  Amen.

19.  Help Me to See You, Lord God

Dear God, Your loving presence is always with me.

I pray to know You are the source of all that I am, giving me what I need to live in faith.
I pray to know You are in my heat through Jesus, and that I will show others the mercy Christ shows me.
I pray your Holy Spirit will give me the grace to recognize You in all things.
I pray that as I see You daily, I will share You daily.

May my sprit be generous, with joy.  Amen.

20.  Prayer of Gratitude and Giving

My gratitude to You, God, shapes my life.  Thank you for the abundance of love, grace, and hope You give me every day.  May this inspire me to give to others as generously as You give to me.

Guide me to lead by sharing with others in all of the ways that make a difference in their lives: listening, encouraging, praying, staying positive, and focusing on others with humility and good cheer.  This is who You created me to be, and I am grateful.  Amen.

21.  A Prayer for Migrants

Merciful and loving Father, you provided for your people Israel in their exodus from slavery a promised land that you established for them, and in Jesus Christ you provide welcome refuge for all in need.

We ask for your divine protection for all migrants who have left their homes in search of new opportunity in another land.

For refugees, who are forced from their homes due to threats of violence, we beseech you to provide them a safe haven.

For migrants trafficked into slavery, grant them rescue, healing, and the strength to start again.

For immigrants, who so often leave their family and friends behind, grant them a better life and greater opportunity elsewhere.

We pray in particular for your protection over migrant children who are vulnerable to exploitation and abuse at the hands of others.

We implore you to grant all migrants your protection and lead them to a place of safety.

Be with all those in need with your power to save.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.  Amen.

22.  A Prayer of Surrender

God, my Father, I thank you for all that you are, and all that you do for me through your Son Jesus Christ.  I praise you for my life, for your mercy and for your Eucharist.  In Jesus' name, Father, I place myself entirely in your Heart.  I surrender to you my whole self, my heart, my mind, my memory, my imagination, my will, my emotions, my passions, my body, my sexuality, my desire for human approval, my weaknesses, my desires, my sins.

I surrender every person in my life to you.  I surrender every situation in my life to you.  I surrender every relationship I am in to you.  I surrender every concern I have to you.  I surrender every fear I have to you.  I surrender every doubt I have to you.  I surrender all confusion I have to you.  I surrender all sadness I am experiencing in my heart to you.  I surrender all the woundedness I have to you.  I surrender all anxiety and worry I have to you.  I surrender all that deceives me in my heart to you.  I surrender my whole self to you.  I trust you to care for me and others in a perfectly loving way.

As I have emptied myself, and surrendered everything to you, I ask you now, Father, to fill me with your Holy Spirit and all the gifts and fruits of your Spirit.

Holy Spirit you are the source of love, hope, joy, peace, patience, goodness, gentleness, tenderness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control.  Purify my desires.

Help me to open my heart to you.  Help me to become perfectly receptive as a pure child.  Help me to believe in your love for me.  Help me to hope in your love.  Help me to receive from the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus all grace and virtues necessary for me to become the person you created me to be.  I ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, God Almighty Father.

O Most Holy Immaculate Virgin Mary.  I entrust this prayer to your Heart, and ask you to press it to your wounded heart and intercede for me to your Son Jesus.  Please help me to be as you are, a perfect disciple, an obedient servant, a true child of God.  Amen.

23.  The Fiat of the Eternal Father

My Beloved Father Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.  Be Thou my Father.  Be always my Eternal Father.  Do not leave my soul.  Do not abandon me.  Do not leave me of Your sight, my Father, for I am Your child, whom You have created to please You, to adore You, to honor You, living my days as You have given me the license to live them.  I offer up this Fiat through Mary, to Jesus, to You, Eternal Father.
